Biography

Tony Leung Chiu-Wai (born June 27, 1962) is a celebrated Hong Kong actor and singer, widely regarded as one of Asia’s greatest actors. Nicknamed the “Small Tiger” among TVB’s Five Tiger Generals, Leung is best known for his collaborations with director Wong Kar-wai in films such as Chungking Express (1994), Happy Together (1997), In the Mood for Love (2000), and The Grandmaster (2013). His performance in In the Mood for Love earned him the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival.

Leung’s career spans acclaimed films including A City of Sadness (1989), Cyclo (1995), Lust, Caution (2007), Hero (2002), Hard Boiled (1992), and Infernal Affairs (2002). He played the Mandarin in the Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). He holds multiple awards, including six Hong Kong Film Awards and three Golden Horse Awards, making him one of the most decorated actors of his generation.
