Sofía Daccarett Char (born April 10, 1993), known professionally as Sofia Carson, is an American actress and singer. She rose to fame playing Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen, in Disney’s Descendants (2015) and its sequels. Carson made her television debut on Austin & Ally and later starred in the Netflix romantic drama Purple Hearts (2022). As a singer, she debuted with the Descendants soundtrack and released her first solo single, “Love Is the Name,” in 2016 after signing with Hollywood Records. In 2022, she released her self-titled debut album and performed the Oscar-nominated song “Applause” (written by Diane Warren) at the 95th Academy Awards.
