Natasha Bianca Lyonne Braunstein (born April 4, 1979) is an American actress, writer, director, and producer, known for her distinctive raspy voice and bold screen presence. Starting as a child actress in Heartburn (1986) and Pee-wee’s Playhouse, she rose to prominence in indie and teen films like Slums of Beverly Hills (1998), Smurfs (2025) But I’m a Cheerleader (1999), and the American Pie series. Lyonne earned Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her roles in Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019), the time-loop comedy Russian Doll (2019–2022), which she also co-created and directed, and Poker Face (2023–present). She starred in the 2024 Netflix drama His Three Daughters and was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2023.ama series Russian Doll (2019–2022), and a woman who can tell when people are lying in the Peacock crime comedy series Poker Face (2023–present), the former of which she also served as a co-creator, writer, director, and executive producer of the series.
