Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a 2021 American superhero film from Marvel Studios, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who co-wrote the screenplay with Dave Callaham and Andrew Lanham. The film stars Simu Liu in the titular role alongside Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Benedict Wong. It is the 25th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Set against a backdrop of mystical dimensions, martial arts traditions, and modern-day action, the story follows Shang-Chi, a skilled martial artist living in San Francisco, who is forced to confront his estranged father Wenwu, leader of the ancient and dangerous Ten Rings organization. As Shang-Chi reconnects with his sister and discovers the secrets of his family’s legacy, he must face powerful enemies, soul-stealing demons, and the truth of his heritage to protect a mythical village and ultimately the world.
