Benedict Wong (born July 3, 1971) is a British actor who began his career on stage before earning recognition in films such as Dirty Pretty Things (2003), which garnered him a British Independent Film Award nomination. He appeared in the BBC sitcom 15 Storeys High (2002–2004) and films including On a Clear Day (2005), Sunshine and Grow Your Own (both 2007), and Moon (2009).
Wong gained wider acclaim for playing Kublai Khan in Netflix’s Marco Polo (2014–2016), Bruce Ng in The Martian (2015), and the character Wong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with Doctor Strange (2016). He starred in the Syfy series Deadly Class (2019), received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Nine Days (2020), and has been featured in Netflix’s 3 Body Problem since 2024.
