Blast (2026) is an Indian Tamil-language action thriller directed by Subash K. Raj in his directorial debut and produced by AGS Entertainment. The film stars Arjun, Abhirami, and Preity Mukhundhan in the lead roles, with supporting performances by John Kokken, Vivek Prasanna, Arjun Chidambaram, Dileepan, and Pawan. Featuring music by Ravi Basrur in his Tamil debut, the film combines high-octane action with family drama and social themes.

The story follows Rajaram, a skilled karate instructor who lives a peaceful life with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila, both of whom are also trained in martial arts. Their quiet family life is shattered when they become the target of Varun Dayalan, a ruthless corporate tycoon determined to mine a rare element hidden beneath a mountain. His plan threatens to destroy an entire village, forcing Rajaram and his family into a dangerous battle against a powerful corporate syndicate and its deadly enforcer. Blending intense action sequences with emotional family moments, Blast explores themes of courage, resilience, environmental protection, and standing up against corruption.

Produced on a budget of approximately ₹18 crore, Blast was released theatrically on 28 May 2026 and emerged as a major blockbuster. The film grossed around ₹70.60 crore worldwide, earning nearly four times its production cost and becoming one of the biggest commercial successes of the year. While critics praised the performances—particularly Preity Mukhundhan’s action-oriented role—and the film’s entertaining action sequences, some reviews noted its predictable screenplay and lengthy runtime. Following its theatrical run, Blast premiered on Netflix on 25 June 2026.
