Moana (2026) is an upcoming American live-action musical adventure film directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Seven Bucks Productions, Flynn Picture Co., and 5000 Broadway Productions. It is a live-action adaptation of Disney’s acclaimed Watch 👉 2016 animated film Moana and serves as the third installment in the Moana franchise. The film stars Catherine Laga’aia as Moana in her feature film debut, while Dwayne Johnson reprises his iconic role as Maui. The supporting cast includes Rena Owen, John Tui, Frankie Adams, and Jemaine Clement.
The story follows Moana, the adventurous daughter of the chief of Motunui, who is once again called by the ocean to embark on a perilous voyage beyond the island’s protective reef. Joined by the legendary demigod Maui, she sets out on a mission to restore balance and safeguard her people.
