The Death of Robin Hood (2026) is an American thriller film written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on the 17th-century ballad Robin Hood’s Death. Produced by Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, Alexander Black, and Hugh Jackman under Lyrical Media and RPC, the film stars Hugh Jackman as an aging Robin Hood, alongside Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. Featuring a haunting score by Jim Ghedi, the film reimagines the legendary outlaw’s final chapter through a dark, introspective lens.
Rather than portraying Robin Hood as a celebrated folk hero, The Death of Robin Hood follows an older, battle-weary Robin living in self-imposed exile, haunted by the countless lives he took during his years as an outlaw. After suffering a life-threatening injury, he finds refuge in a remote priory, where he is cared for by Sister Brigid and forms an unexpected bond with an orphaned girl.
