Animal is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action drama film scheduled to release in 2023. Directed and edited by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film’s screenplay is co-written by Pranay Reddy Vanga and Saurabh Gupta. It is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar, and Murad Khetani under the banners of T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios. The movie features a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri. The film revolves around a violent young man who discovers a plot to assassinate his estranged father and goes on a mission to seek revenge.

The upcoming Indian film “Animal” was officially announced in January 2021. Principal photography began in April 2022 and was wrapped up by April 2023. The film’s cinematography is handled by Amit Roy, and the music is composed by JAM8, Vishal Mishra, Jaani, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Ashim Kemson, and Harshwardhan Rameshwar. With a runtime of 201 minutes, “Animal” is one of the longest Indian films ever made. Although initially scheduled for an August 2023 release, it was postponed due to post-production work.

The Hindi film Animal was theatrically released on December 1, 2023, in both standard and IMAX formats. While the critics had mixed reviews, the movie managed to break several box office records, grossing ₹917.31 crore (US$110 million) worldwide. It emerged as a major commercial success, becoming the eighth highest-grossing Indian film, the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film of all time, and the highest-grossing film of Ranbir Kapoor’s career. At the 69th Filmfare Awards, the movie received 19 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor. A sequel titled Animal Park is currently under development.
